A method of soil improvement by explosives

Dean Lalić

Abstract

Basic properties of a soil improvement method based on the use of explosives are presented, and possibilities for the application of this method are analyzed. Factors influencing efficiency of soil improvement practices are presented. The classification is given and basic mathematical expressions, measurements and testing, i.e. activities needed before the start of work, during realization, and after completion of work, are presented. Advantages and shortcomings of this method are outlined so as to provide a better insight into possibilities of its use in engineering practice.
