Concrete bridges with double supports for continuous beams
Abstract
The solution for concrete girder bridges involving the use of double supports for continuous beams is described. During assembly, the girders are directly supported by deformable elastomeric bearings, and then the continuity of girders above piers is obtained by concreting. The author demonstrates that such bridges still have good properties that are typical for classical continuous girder bridges and bridges with continuous slabs. The Severinske drage viaduct, situated on the Rijeka - Zagreb motorway, is cited as an example of such solution.
